Experiencing New Heights Through Christ

Experiencing New Heights Through Christ

As I remember walking through the lush Kampong botanical garden, what stood out from the trail of exotic plants and trees were the common plants we see everyday here in Miami. Bougainvillea and palms, typically used as shrubs and landscaping, now towering before me, glorious to see. At Kampong the ordinary had grown into something extraordinary!

I started thinking what was it exactly that would cause these everyday shrubs to take new heights and overcome what was limiting so many like them. Was it the rich soil? The studious pruning and care of onsite gardeners? The test of hurricane force winds encouraging a strong roots system and strength?

The sight of those grand, flowering structures lead me to remember the importance of coming into agreement with who God has called us to be, more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), and how we are to remember the all powerful risen Christ, who secured victory over what seeks to limit us through his resurrection.

Consider our Lords words in John 16:33, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

The circumstances that seek to limit us and stop us from living a life that displays Gods glory will arise until the coming our Lord. But when we live righteously according to Gods standard, humble ourselves before Him, and and connect with the risen Christ, we take the top off our limits, take new heights, and can begin to actually experience our salvation given victory. For His glory!
